FAQ

Are the artworks unique?

Yes. I create my artwork in my studio in Canada. In my work I use traditional materials and my favorites are inks, charcoal and watercolor as well as collage and photography.

For the prints, after my artwork is finished, I digitize it, prepare it for printing and print it on textured high-quality cotton paper that I choose specifically for each project. Every order is printed in my studio and examined thoroughly to ensure there are no imperfections before being carefully packaged and shipped.

What materials do you use for printing?

I use a method of Giclée printing. With consideration about the environment, I use high quality acid-free 100% cotton archival paper which makes my prints environmentally friendly and longer-lasting. Pigment inks that I use are tough and and posters will not fade, however I'd recommend avoid hanging prints anywhere where it will receive regular doses of direct sunlight.

Do prints have borders?

Yes, each print has a border. The border of a smallest print would be a bit narrower than the border of the largest print to keep the composition well-balanced. Please see the border sizes when you select the print size.

Do you frame your art / prints?

I do not offer framing for prints nut I'd recommend framing them to keep dust away. My prints are reproduced on a standard size paper so can be displayed in multiple ways and complement any interior. You can frame it using any standard photo or poster frame, with a mat board or without. In my photo examples I used a photo frame with a mat board. If you have a local frame shop, using their services would be a great option.

How many print sizes are available?

Currently my prints are available in multiple paper sizes. When you select the size, please note that the size indicates the printed area and the border.

How long does it take to print my order?

I print and package the prints myself, individually in Ottawa, Canada. Please allow up to 2 days for your order to be printed and sealed before I ship it.

What does the packaging include?

It is important for me to use environment friendly materials and reduce waste as much as possible. I ship my products in a waterproof seal plastic bag and a flat cardboard mailer, which both are acid-free and recyclable. If applicable, I use biodegradable mailers.

What are the shipping times?

Shipping times vary depending on the destination. You will see the shipping times and fees during the checkout process, right before you pay for your order.

How to take care of my print / artwork ?

To ensure its longevity prints should be treated with care. I’d recommend avoid hanging prints anywhere where it will receive regular doses of direct sunlight. When you receive your art please try to avoid touching the face of the painting / print. Please do not use tape on th efron of your print / artwork.

Can I get a refund?

All purchases are final. I do not accept refunds or exchanges on orders as each work is an artist’s creation.

But I'm always open to help. If your print was damaged during shipment, please take a picture of the damage and email me hello@mariashanina.com
